But promises were made, signed by all socialists in the world.
These are the promises:
Peace between nations.
Peace and freedom within every nation.
Abolition of the death penalty.
Unprecedented growth of all kinds of well-being.
An unprecedented flowering of all kinds of culture. With all allowances for human weaknesses and mistakes, passions and vices, the deeds of all these people have now become completely visible, absolutely indisputable for every human being endowed with normal human eyes and a normal human conscience. Even the reference to any local or chronological accidents disappears: in all countries where people came to power, the course of events developed with a truly ironclad pattern.
On point one: about peace.
a) World peace began with the organization of a number of civil wars: in Russia, in Germany (Bavarian Soviet Republic), in Hungary (Hungarian Soviet Republic), in China, in Finland, Spain, Austria, Italy, Bulgaria and others. Attempts to organize a civil war in England (the strike of 1926) and in the USA (dumping to support the crisis) failed.
b) In those countries where the civil war ended with the victory of one of the philosophies - in Russia, Italy and Germany, after the destruction of bourgeois competitors in the struggle for power, the winners began to exterminate socialist competitors. Having exterminated the socialists of all other parties, they began to exterminate competitors in their own.
c) Having exterminated their domestic competitors within their countries, all the victorious leaders of all renewed humanity began to frantically prepare for the extermination of external ones. Having begun their careers protesting against imperialism, weapons, standing armies and "militarism", the USSR, Germany and Italy began to forge weapons in peacetime on a scale never seen under any capitalism. The entire life of the peoples of the victorious socialists turned out to be subordinated to the regime of barracks and military factories. The USSR's preparations for a “total war” began six years before Adolf Hitler came to power, when there could be no talk of any threat to the USSR from any side. Where the victorious socialisms did not intend to fight or could not, they tried with all their might to provoke other people’s wars. Thus, the USSR, with its agreement with Hitler, provoked Germany’s attack on Poland, Germany, with its entire policy, pushed Japan to war, Italy armed the Abyssinian “races,” and all three systems tried, to the best of their ability, to increase chaos in the rest of the world. By a treaty on August 23, 1930, Soviet Russia pledged to supply Germany with bread, oil, manganese and, in particular, lubricating oils, so necessary for the war against democracies. A week after this treaty, Germany went to war. Now Soviet Russia is fomenting wars in China, the Balkans, Indonesia and Indochina, openly or covertly standing behind the backs of those proletarians of all countries who, in the simplicity of their souls, believe that an abundance of bread, butter, pants, housing and security can most easily be achieved by stopping work.
So, the promises of universal peace were realized first in the form of civil wars in their own countries, then in attempts to organize civil wars abroad, then in turning their own countries into continuous armed camps, then in provoking all sorts of wars in the world, then in the form of the Second World War war and now in the form of preparation for the third world war.
On point two: about freedoms.
a) The organization of all kinds of freedoms proclaimed over the centuries began with the removal of the entire population of all successively socialist countries from any participation in deciding their own destinies. The “will of the people” was replaced by the will of the leader, commanding a single party, pursuing his policy through the merciless suppression of the masses, their opinions, and their interests.
b) “Universal, equal, direct and secret” suffrage, proclaimed only yesterday by all socialist parties, has turned from a right into a duty carried out under the supervision of the secret police.
c) All bodies of self-government and even self-service have been replaced by a centralized bureaucracy, subordinate to the police, party, and leader. The entire population of the country is subordinate to a police station, which is worse than any other in the world, if only because no other police station in the world is endowed with such power as the socialist one.
d) The public court is replaced by secret courts, and every citizen of the country is given over to their arbitrariness - from shepherds to ministers. There was not a trace left of freedom of speech, conscience, unions and other things: “all power to the working people” turned out to be power over the working people.
e) However, all this is not only a deprivation of freedom, not only a ban on sympathizing with any other social system other than that decreed by the Leader, it is, moreover, a terror-supported compulsion to sympathize with this system, strengthen it and praise it in every possible way. A person who, in Germany, Italy or the USSR, would praise Roosevelt or Churchill would be shot. But sooner or later, people who shy away from praising Stalin, Hitler or Mussolini also end up shot. From the “working people,” victorious socialism demanded not only the renunciation of freedom, but all freedom. He, the worker, is also obliged, under the threat of death, to daily demonstrate his admiration for the regime of hunger, slavery, and the humiliation of all human dignity.
So, as a result of the victory of a philosophically justified and scientifically inevitable beautiful future, people not only did not receive new freedoms, but found themselves deprived of those that they had under the “reactionary regimes” of the Romanovs, Hohenzollerns, Habsburgs and others. They, the workers, were told that they had nothing to lose except their chains. They only received chains. And under the threat of death, these chains force them to praise and kiss.
On point three: about prosperity.
a) Russia, the first to embark on the path of consistent socialism, from the recent breadbasket of Europe has turned into a country of chronic hunger, which at times worsened to the point of cannibalism. The American Relief Administration (ARA) supplied capitalist food rations to the starving children of socialist Russia in exactly the same way as now another American organization, UNNRA, supplies the same socialist children with the same rations, only not just in Russia, but in all of Europe. Instead of bread, the working people of Russia received military convict factories, the working people of Germany - guns instead of butter, and the working people of Italy - Abyssinia instead of pasta.
b) The grain famine was followed by all other conceivable varieties of it: housing, fuel, clothing, paper, cultural and others. Life gradually began to approach the ideal of a prison based on the principles of self-sufficiency, such as the prisons of the Ancient East.
c) The entire economic life of all revolutionary countries turned out to be aimed not at all at satisfying the needs of the working people, but at saturating the will to power of the Leader and the thirst for privileges of the ruling party. Everything was built for power, that is, for war. The workers were left with only scraps. d) Agriculture has been undermined for decades: livestock has died out, fields are littered, forests have been cut down, and the most economic elements have been eliminated. Crafts that had been growing for centuries were destroyed. In the USSR in 1935, the government was no longer able to find people who still preserved the technique of artisanal artistic craft. There are no young people in Germany who could take over the legacy of the ancient and highly skilled German craft. But unnecessary giants of the military industry were created for no normal life and millions of cadres were trained for no normal life of unnecessary people: detectives, planners, collective farm chairmen or Bauernfuehrers, red directors, or trigenders, propagandists and liars, philosophers of dialectical materialism and professors of Hegelian dialectics; Tens of millions of young men and even women have been raised who are good for nothing but war and who know nothing but hatred. The entire economic life of all revolutionary countries is completely subordinated to the interests of a layer of scum, parasitic on the economic system erected on the most modern philosophical and idiotic foundations. This layer produces nothing. But he doesn’t allow others to produce anything either.
So, the social system, erected on the foundations of materialist philosophy—various materialist philosophies—led first of all to a material need that threatens, if not extinction, then at least the physical and moral degeneration of entire tribes, strata and peoples. The pitiful crumbs of laboratory achievements of totalitarian science are drowning without a trace in the swamp of complete and general economic collapse.
On point four: the abolition of the death penalty.
a) Beginning their careers with protests against the death penalty as a barbaric system of punishment, the victorious socialist parties introduced the death penalty first for their class enemies, then for their socialist rivals, then for their party comrades, then for their political brothers (Bukharin and Rem).
b) The death penalty has been introduced for the entire population of the country, including women and children. In the USSR, children over 14 years of age were subject to the death penalty. It is used for reasons that have never been used anywhere in the world. All variants of “sabotage”, “sabotage”, “treason against the people” and other things of this kind are punishable by death. Both the German and Russian revolutions executed the death of children, whom these same revolutions deprived of family, bread and God. But these same revolutions also execute themselves: the principle of extermination is taken to its logical conclusion.
c) The death penalty has become widely used. And in this new capacity it turned into an instrument of physical extermination of entire strata, nations, classes and races. In Russia, the principle that operates is predominantly class; in Germany, it is predominantly racial. But the person who is being led to execution absolutely does not care on the scaffold of which philosophy he will be sent to the next world: on the foundations of Hegel, standing on his own head, or on the foundations of Marx, who stood Hegelian philosophy on its head.
d) By exterminating hostile classes or races, victorious socialism bleeds its own. As a general rule, the best representatives of the people and class are exterminated: those who still have the will to freedom, the will to resist, who still have talent, initiative, conscience, and normal human common sense. Reptiles remain to live. Everything that rises above the reptile level is destroyed. The best genes of future generations are being destroyed.
d) Finally, as the completion of the punitive and exterminatory system of socialism, the institution of hostages was introduced. Not only the culprit, but also his family are subject to punishment. Or, otherwise, people who are obviously innocent and not accused of anything are subject to punishment. This is the strongest side of totalitarian regimes. There is enough courage in too many hearts to face one's own death. But it is almost impossible to go to your death, knowing that for your crime or for your feat the authorities will torture either your mother or your daughter. The institution of hostages binds the best part of the nation - that which is ready to sacrifice its life, but which stops short of sacrificing the lives of its loved ones.
So, the death penalty came into use and became the main core of intimidating the masses and maintaining power. The terror of every revolution - French, German and Russian - is directed not only against class or racial enemies, it is directed against the entire nation, and in the long term - against all humanity. The rulers of successively revolutionary countries - Robespierre, Stalin, Hitler - introduced terror not at all in order to satisfy their own bloodthirstiness, and not at all to suppress the racial or class enemies of the people. The entire structure of a revolutionary, and especially a socialist, social system is an unnatural structure and therefore can only be supported by unnatural measures. Of all these measures, the death penalty is the main measure. And the death penalty becomes the alpha and omega of the internal policy of socialism.
On point five: about culture.
If the entire economic life of the country is subject to the law of murder, terror and war, then the entire spiritual life is subject to the law of hatred. No culture can be created on hatred. And if material culture forges weapons for the world power of Robespierre - Stalin - Hitler, then spiritual culture must satisfy the same requirement. Writers are subject to censorship and all other persecutions not only for what they write, but also for what they do not write.
All creativity turns into prostitution, the refusal of which is paid for with death.
The Soviet satirist M. Zoshchenko stayed on the literary surface of the USSR for almost a quarter of a century. He did not protest against the authorities in any way. He satirically denounced any “petty-bourgeois psychology” that lies like a stumbling block on the highway to the inexpressibly beautiful “day after tomorrow.” M. Zoshchenko is only the third type of literature; the first two types died out long ago. After the war and the intoxication of victory, even this literature seemed unnecessary. M. Zoshchenko was subjected to “cleansing”, forced to repent and humiliate himself and switch to descriptions of “heroes of Stalin’s construction”.
This is how great Russian literature dies. Poetry also died: two of the greatest poets of Soviet times, Yesenin and Mayakovsky, committed suicide. In operas and symphonies, party bureaucrats find “party deviations.” Chemists Ipatiev and Chichibabin escaped from the USSR. Worker in the field of atomic physics - prof. Kapitsa escaped earlier, but was lured to the USSR, and he is forced to work on the decomposition of the atom for Stalin's atomic bombs.
Of all that we are accustomed to calling culture, only the propaganda of the world power of the Leader and the technology needed to conquer this power remain.
The organizational side of culture turned out to be lower than the medieval one. A medieval student could wander from the University of Prague to the Sorbonne and from Padua to Heidelberg - and he was aware of all contemporary human thought. Nowadays every scholastic of every sect of socialist theology is separated by an impenetrable “iron curtain” from the rest of the world. Thus, the entire population of the “Third Reich” was completely convinced that the Second World War was lost solely as a result of betrayal, a “stab in the back” - “dolchstoss”. Thus, the population of the USSR is brought up in the idea that the American worker is hungry and has no rights. The population of the USSR, Italy and Germany was brought up in the idea that the rest of the world is non-communist, non-fascist, non-totalitarian, and the world of democracy, plutocracy of capitalism and other things is completely rotten, decayed morally and physically and is only waiting for a push from Mussolini - Hitler - Stalin to collapse into the grave. Two pushes have already been given. Two totalitarian systems have already collapsed into the grave. And on these graves the green shoots of neo-fascism and neo-Nazism are already growing. For in Germany and Italy there are still people who under Hitler and Mussolini were “everything”, and now they have become God knows what. The same people will remain in Russia after the impetus that Stalin gives to the capitalist world. That is why no amount of dirt, stench and blood of the revolution will create any immunity. There are always people who fed on this dirt, stench and blood and who are not needed for anything else in the world. They are already creating a theory of the inevitability of the German victory in 1945, thwarted by the “Dolchstoss” of the general’s conspiracy on June 20. It is they who create in Russia the “just about” theory - Soviet Russia “just about” reached the reward for all the sacrifices of previous years, the harvest sown by years of hardship and suffering, and at this very moment the capitalists, afraid of something unprecedented in the history of mankind the heyday of the USSR, they organized some kind of dirty trick like “dolchstoss”, conspiracy, treason and other things. Let us, dear Situayen, Genosse and comrades, begin again! Maybe they will actually start again: the French sans-culottes started again five times.
Everything that I have listed here is clear to the point of absolute indisputability. Nothing came of all the promises of socialism. The most capitalist country in the world, the USA is the freest, most well-fed country.
The most socialist country, the USSR, is the most enslaved and the most hungry. But no amount of evidence has any effect on a person who is professionally interested in lying. And very little - on people brought up in this lie.
The proletarians of Europe have sunk to the level of pithecanthropy. They have nothing to eat. They have nowhere to live. But they are firmly convinced that it is at this moment that they need to work as little as possible and get as much as possible. French miners leave French bank officials without fuel, who leave miners without wages. American sailors leave Russian miners without bread, Russian miners leave German industry without coal, German industry leaves German peasants without fuel, machinery and fertilizers, and German peasants leave German industry without bread. This is how the proletarians of all countries unite.
